the bracelet

After 5ish years of continuous wear, the 90s friendship bracelet I got from BMX Andy that one day in Western Island, once vibrant green and tight on my wrist has finally succumb to time’s unforgiving hand.

This morning I felt a little strange, looked down to see my naked wrist and saw no bracelet. Vanished into the ether.

It’s been hanging on by a thread lately, my sad attempts to keep it taped together failed. I had a feeling it’s days were numbered.

In the end, mine lasted the longest out of everybody else’s, and for that I am proud. Surviving many adventures, jobs and hairstyles, it held on tight. I’ll miss it dearly. ❤ -p.
