old poems

I took a visit to my old blog (on xanga) to see what I used to write about.  Aside from foolishly complaining about school, tales of good concerts and parties, I wrote poems.  I’m not sure why I stopped, around 2006 I’d say..but here’s a few gems I dug up.

O
indie not emo
laughing in slomo
arseneo’s window
breaks like free throws
if you wanna van go(gh)
why dont you say so?

i wrote it in chemistry
i think i broke my neck
you dont give a feck
i need to go to sleep
in my ears, beep-a-leep
alabama lamas circle round and round
chains around my neck
puppies in a pound
i wanna get paid
sip on gatorade
you know how i roll
(fellinarabbithole)
tight jeans
aluminum beams
slip on a jack knife
if ya know what i mean
((rinse and repeat))

last week
on an orange ride
through subconscious tide
undertow sweeps round’
over clowns face down

catch us on our way out
two more months,eagle scout
double fisted nite time
be my partner in crime

gotta be 12 thirty 8
sleepin on a roller skate
pink lungs drown in midair
spin into my weezer chair

take it away billy dee
i’m off to plant a tree
maybe rubber with some snow
memories of last week’s overflow.

..that takes me back.  Reading the old blog definitely reassured me how much life can change within a few years.  I really did used to like to write these crazy poems though, maybe I’ve been suppressing my creative urges for the past 2 years.
