soft day

Once again, in all the excitment of running the Corktown Race and St.Patrick’s day, I forgot about “person of the week”. I guess since I can’t even take it upon myself to remember to keep up this once a week, I’ll just write them randomly.

Speaking of Corktown, it was pretty fun. The only bad part of the whole deal was having to stand in line forever to pee. There were only 3 port-o-potties, 3! for like 1000 people. Afterward I found more stashed closer to the finish line. Crazy. My team parter Al and I had two goals, 1: make it in under 40 minutes, 2: Don’t come in last. We accomplished both. Running around downtown Detroit rejuvinates my love for the area, striding past Comerica Park, The Fox, and statues of random peeps alongside all sorts of folks is great.

Remembering that I want to do a half marathon this year, I dug out the program schedule I printed out a few months ago from So, I’m off to it. Gonna do the pre-train thing for a few weeks until its too easy then go for the gold. I should probably coordinate it with the date of the Free Press marathon…

As the Irish call it, today is a “soft” day, a light mist hanging in the air. Quite refreshing to run through. Earlier I got some new fun Yogi tea, goji berry/green flavor. So during this 2nd half of the day, methinks I’ll drink a few cups, get through a few more fresh air interviews and probably end up watching bad reality TV later.

We’ll see if I can conjure up someone worthy of being person of the week soon.
