new in, out old

(Whoa man!  It just hit me that I have little time to write this post so hang with me…)

I wanted to do a year in review of my favorite/not-so favorite things like last year, but considering I’ve put it off for too long I’ll keep it short.

First thing that comes to mind is the trip with my wife to fabulous Barcelona, what a food coma’d good time that was, still reminiscing a lot.  Also went to Chicago a few times for standard levels of awesomeness.  I’ll be spending New Year’s there this year for the first time.  Very excite.

Can’t forget my first half marathon in lovely Napa Valley California last summer.  So far definitely my favorite and most intense running experience.    It was last year’s resolution to complete a half and I ended up doing a 2nd one in Detroit so take that!

Other good stuff from 2009:

Bad stuff:

  • Kwame
  • Short stint with Blackberry
  • No film work
  • Michael Jackson
  • Twilight movies
  • Bubble Boy
  • Sarah Palin
  • Athletes on Twitter

I know there’s a lot more and I’d love to elaborate, but I’m out of time.

Best of luck to you and yours in the next year and decade!

See ya in the future.

Back from Barthelona

Hi friends,

After a crazy day of travels, Bis and I returned from our Barcelona adventures last night.

Quick recap: woke up, spent last 2 euros on a metro ticket to the train station, didn’t have enough money between us to get train tickets and the ATM didn’t work so we had to scramble to find one, got tickets, got to the airport in time to miss our flight due to bad signage, long lines and confusion.  Luckily, we were able to get on the next flight to New York.  I was slightly worried we’d be staying overnight, or something crazy like that. On the plane I sat next to a less than pleasant smelling man and watched Wolverine, State of Play, 30 Rock, and listened to lots of music.  I’m surprisingly awake and raring to go considering the lack of sleep and food.

It feels good to be back.  Although I was just getting used to awkward gesture conversations mixed with bits of English Spanish and Catalan.  The first large ad we saw coming into the corridor in JFK made me feel right at home (I wish I’d taken a photo), 3 pictures, the first- a pageant winner, second- the moon landing, third- someone tying their shoes, with the word “accomplishment” underneath.  Fantastic.  I love America.

Best parts of the trip were the food, beach and making friends with some kind journalist/advertising people.  I hope you were following my tweets for all the photos of delicious treats and other good times.

At the moment I’m in Holland, so I have yet to be home home and see the fam, pups and make a long awaited PB&J with the fancy jam I got.  Among other things, I shall also indulge in NPR, running, and trying to find some work.

Stay tuned for our trip video.

love

Mucho Gusto España

In a couple hours, my wife and I will embark on a journey.  A journey to Barcelona, Spain.  We saw Journey last night.  Heart was the opener, so good.

I think there is a wordpress app for my phone but I have yet to download it.  If I figure it out I’ll attempt to do a post or two here and there.  If not, I’ll just write about it when I get back.

The plan is we have no plan.  But there is an FC Barcelona match on Monday, which would be pretty cool to attend.  There is also the Sants Festa Major which features music, parades and the “dance of the giants” while we’re there.  Sounds good to me.

Our faithful friend Mark is letting us borrow his sweeet Flip Mino HD, so be on the lookout for some fun videos in the future.

Guess thats about it for now.

maybe ill see this?

maybe i'll see this?

Hasta luego!
