Person of the Week: Rufus Wainwright
Last weekend Bis and I saw Rufus Wainwright.
I’m guessing I’m like most people who only know a bit of his work, like Hallelujah, Cigarettes & Chocolate Milk and Instant Pleasure. Despite not knowing a ton, the show was amazing. The thing that stood out the most was the amount of personality that Rufus showed. Maybe it was just because it was a solo performance, either way it made the show more intimate and enjoyable. Good enough for me to buy a CD anyway. Apparently he doesn’t tour very often in the states, so if you’re lucky enough to catch him, it’s a must, or move to Europe.
So even though its a week late, this week Rufus Wainwright, for being amazing is this week’s person of the week! WEEK!

Tommy O’Flynn: Person of the Week
For the past few weeks I’ve been looking forward to seeing mash-up artist Girl Talk at the Detroit Electronic Music Festival aka Movement. The only problem being that the festival isn’t free anymore and I lacked the $25 for a day pass.
Tommy knew my passion for the event because he went with me and others to see Girl Talk last year in Pontiac and it blew our minds. So, he stepped up, after he and his brother held a Detroit Sports trifecta party at his house, they gave me all the bottles and cans from that night as well as a whole load of others that were waiting to be recycled. I returned all of em and was able to afford my ticket and had a blast. So here’s to Tommy O for being a good friend, charitable neighbor, officially sanctioned poet extraordinare of Food in the Hood, and now Person of the Week!

LeBron-Person of the Week
Knowing we don’t have to hear and see everyone gushing over Lebron for the rest of the playoffs feels great. Good effort BronBron, but once again, not this year. He does win Person of the Week!
