fav.xmas movie

A Muppets Family Christmas (1987) is probably my favorite holiday movie.

Fozzie takes the gang to his Mom’s farm to sing and eat etc.. While they wait for Miss Piggy to get there, the monsters and Big Bird from Sesame Street come over caroling, then Kermit hangs out with Fraggles!  The best part is there are no celebrity cameos.   Here’s a highlights version I found:

Mission Impossible

Ok.  I’m not a Tom Cruise freak or anything, I just had to get my thoughts out on this…

I’ve seen Mission Impossible a handful of times.  I don’t know why.  It seems like every time, there’s some part I miss and I end up not fully understanding the plot.  I mostly just enjoy Ving Rhames.

Mission Impossible 2 I’ve only seen once.  I so thoroughly disliked it, I knew it wouldn’t pull me in again like the first one.  It could’ve been the director, John Woo-known for other greats like Chu Ba and The Robinsons: Lost in Space.  I really don’t know..it just didn’t do anything for me.  Except that first scene with the rock climbing, that was OK.

Tonight, I watched the 3rd installment.   I’m a little late on this one, it came out in ’06.  I just never thought it was worth it.  Boy was I wrong!  What a thrill ride.  I actually yelled at the actors to do stuff (then laughed at myself).  What got me watching was the fact that Philip Seymour Hoffman is in the cast.  I’m a big fan, and for some reason he’s all over the place these days, right?  Secondly, it was directed by J.J.Abrams, mostly known for co-creating LOST.  Way better than a nutty action director.

OK, so if you’re having a slow night, go rent Missions Impossible 1 & 3, then tell me what you think.
