Training Update

I went to another fundraiser clinic thing today at the CCFA office.  It went well, got some more ideas to implement in the coming days/weeks.  I’ve reached my first $1000 mark faster than I thought I would, for sure.  That’s a great feeling, except I still have to power through and get the next 3+.

As for the physical side, I’m still sidelined :(   My sciatic nerve is slowly less painful day to day.  At this Saturday’s group training I’ll hopefully get some more good tips from the coach.  Its definitely annoying to be sidelined so early after getting so psyched up to run but I guess its better now than closer to the race date.

Right now I’m thinking up new incentives for donations, so be on the lookout for a new list!

2nd Grade

An entry from my 2nd grade journal:

2-28-92

We went to gym today.  We did chin ups and.  We played hockey it was.  Fun I liked it and so.  Did everybody els.

I remember putting in periods randomly to add to my sentence count.  I didn’t enjoy my journal back then as much as I like blogging now.

Fat Tuesday

Happy Fat Tuesday folks!

I can’t say I remember the last time I’ve enjoyed a paczki.  My dad used to get some every year.  This weekend I went up north to Harbor Springs to snowboard with some friends.  I hadn’t gone up in a few years so I was slightly nervous but after a few runs I was doin alright.  The only bad part was the snow stinging my face if I went to fast, which is my favorite thing to do.  Anyway, there was a grocery store up there selling paczkis, almost got em, but decided against it thinking it could potentially be a health hazard, plus the best ones are from Hamtramck.

No decision yet on whether or not I’ll give anything up for Lent.  Any suggestions?  If you know me, I like to indulge in my favorite things, its hard to give up anything.

For example, right now I’m on a new music binge.  At the moment I’m listening to Neko Case’s new one, Wilco’s Sky Blue Sky, and Grandaddy’s Sophtware Slump.  Good stuff.

Tomorrow I’m going to a fund raising clinic for Team Challenge,  hopefully I’ll come away with good ideas.  My friend Eric decided this half marathon would be good training for a full one in the Fall so he’s looking to sign up too.  This is fun and exciting news.  Don’t forget to donate and to tell your friends to do the same!!!!

love,
