Free Day

The combination of working outside many hours and the weather turning colder has me comin down with a bit of a cold. So far nothing too horrible. Yesterday though, it almost sidelined me from playing a win or go home softball game. I did end up playing, not terribly well, but we won 1 out of 2 games to get us into the playoffs, which is quite exciting. Let’s hope we play as well next week.
This weekend I missed (by choice) a free Jay-Z concert for Obama. I heard it was good. Today I think I’ll miss another free show. This time its Bruce Springsteen. I’m a bit more conflicted on this one. I know a good handful of his music, and I’m sure it’ll be a good time…but I’m sick, and I’d have to rush out to beat the crowds, which takes too much energy and gas I don’t have. Maybe there’ll be a stream of it online later. Today is my day off, I have to relax as much as possible. Deirdre and I might go see the new Spike Lee movie, Miracle at St. Anna. I have to catch up on my reading as well.
OH MAN! Almost forgot! Congrats to the Detroit Shock for their 3rd WNBA Championship in 6 years. I watched the last game of their sweep of San Antonio yesterday with great happiness. Even though I don’t recognize half the team anymore, I’m proud for their accomplishments. It’s hard to believe its already been 2 years since working at PS&E watching them win their 2nd.
Also, thank you Mark for sharing this link. More crazy political stuff, but an interesting read.
With work, the election, concerts, weddings, trips etc., the next few weeks promise to be quite interesting no doubt. Hopefully I’ll be able to keep up, and maybe blog about the more interesting things going on.
till then,

Detroit Champion City
